Description

Keeper Karina.. no, I don't suspect she'd be proud of me. Why would she be? Here, I do nothing to aid our people, except accidentally set the Dread Wolf free. Sure, I kill darkspawn and work for a higher cause, but what does that do for our people?”

Character design of Kit S'Vaie, the Dalish rogue from Antiva. He's basically the elven embodiment of chaos, struggling with his new life and the challenges to everything he believes in. But hey, at least he's found some entertainment ever since Dworkin started letting Kit 'test' his explosives. The Warden Commander is seriously regretting letting those two meet each other.

I've had this picture lurking around on my computer since August, and I figured it was finally time to sit down and finish it. :XD:

tons of references for the halla and wolf. I'm still not comfortable drawing animals.

awesome job!  i think you have mastered your anatomy style.  and, of course, your clothing-fu that i envy.  ; )

you did a fine job on the critters!
the wolf looks a little fox-like.  probably needs a heavier muzzle, and less ruff (or more rounded).  and maybe a heavier body, and you need to study canine elbows... but you know... that's down the road : )

now you know what i'm going to harp on... : X   this is weird, i see this all over deviant art on so many pics.  and i guess my art teachers harped on it a few times with me, because... well here it is:  the overlapping!

you got your halla nicely overlapping the background tree, and good contrast/focus on the head being framed by the tree trunk.  but.  its ENTIRELY enclosed in the tree, even that branch that goes out behind the antler.
plus, be real careful where the hilt of that other sword/blade thing goes along the halla's spine.

and the rest of the overlaps are done very well : )

the blade looks a little weird in his hand, a little unbalanced.  like it's too heavy for him to hold it that way.  if his fingers were all curled around the hilt, and up against the guard, and the pommel bit was further along his wrist, that would help there.
darnit, i dont have my graphicst ablet, i could try making doodles....

lastly, how do you do those line things like on the mountain and tree bark?  they're all decorative and functional and stylized and interesting.  how do you do that? ; )
